Magikarp, the iconic fishy water-type, is the featured Pokemon for August's Pokemon GO Community Day. Set for next Saturday, August 8th, this event will have an exclusive Research story, exclusive Field Research tasks and an August Community Day Box. Starting at 11am, this Community Day will last for six hours ending at 5pm in your local time.

This month trainers can look forward to three times the catch stardust, Incense duration increased to three hours, and a surprise in GO Snapshots.

Magikarp evolved during the event will gain a Gyarados that has the attack Aqua Tail. The evolution from Magikarp to Gyarados will set you back by 400 Magikarp candy. Due to the expensive nature of the evolution, trainers will be able to earn additional Magikarp candies from exclusive field research tasks.

A single purchase "August Community Day Box" will be available which offers an Incense, six Star Pieces, Elite Fast TM, and 30 Ultra Balls.

Making a Splash, an exclusive research story, will be available where trainers can join "Professor Willow as he learns about Magikarp and its epic Evolution journey." Tickets for this research story will cost $1USD and will not give players an in-game medal.
