Article Monthly Pokemon GO Community Days Starting In January

Niantic introduced a new event this month called Pokemon Go Community Day. Hosted once a month for a few hours, community days give out bonuses to participating players. A particular Pokemon will be picked, appear more frequently, and if caught they will gain an exclusive move. The amount of XP or Stardust earned will be increased and Lure Modules will last for three hours.

January's Community Day will be held on Saturday the 20th with Pikachu being the featured Pokemon. Pikachu's exclusive move will be Surf with the bonuses being Double XP and Three Hour Lures. Here are the designated event times Niantic put out based on region;

  • The Asia-Pacific region: January 20, 2018, from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. JST (GMT +9)
  • Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India: January 20, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. UTC (GMT +0)
  • The Americas and Greenland: January 20, 2018, from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. PST (GMT -8)
