The seventh season for animated television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars was announced today at San Diego Comic-Con 2018. Dave Filoni, the show's director, presented the news alongside a trailer during the The Clone War's 10th year anniversary panel.
The new season will feature 12 new episodes streamed through Disney's direct-to-consumer streaming service.
The Clone Wars series was broadcasted on Cartoon Network from 2008 through 2013, boosting an audience score of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. With the main premise being what happened during the three years between the Star Wars prequel films Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.
The series was canceled after the Disney's buyout of Lucasfilms back in late 2012.
